City-library partnerships promoting open data can support the shared goals of promoting civic engagement and open access to information. Edmonton Public Library will discuss how co-hosting a hackathon for International Open Data Day with the City of Edmonton supported the city’s Open City initiative, encouraged citizen app development, and strengthened the library's efforts to be a provider of open data, teacher of data literacy and a home for civic hacking.
