Since 2013, IMLS has funded $8.5 million in early learning projects in communities nationwide. This panel of grantees will share promising practices and lessons learned, with a focus on leveraging partnerships with state and local education and social service providers. Come learn about resources that inform libraries’ work in this area, including a forthcoming framework for aligning library programming with state early learning standards (in collaboration with the BUILD Initiative); the “Growing Young Minds” report; Prescription for Success, a program connecting Reach Out and Read clinics with local museums and libraries; and an update on the PLA/ALSC study that examines how library programming around early literacy development affects parent engagement.
