This session will feature professional librarians who are currently employed at various types of libraries and have experiences being hired at a variety of libraries and in different levels of librarianship. The panel members will discuss their experiences during the hiring process including general and unique application requirements, pitches and items potential employees should have prepared before they apply, and the time requirements for the hiring process. Panel members will also share their experiences with hiring librarians for institutions they have worked at. They will provide insight into what they look for in applicants and offer suggestions on how to best approach a job search. Note this Spectrum Institute event is open only to current Spectrum Scholars, and invited alumni and guests.
