Description:

In 2014 LYRASIS and RAILS partnered to help RAILS member libraries advance their digitization expertise. They created a regional model designed to help staff learn about digitization, ramp up their understanding of basic and advanced digitization topics, prepare grant proposals, implement plans and create a community of practice. The model included in person overview training, group collection analysis, online sessions on targeted subjects and one on one assistance in preparing grant proposals. The Oak Park Public Library and Ernest Hemingway Foundation of Oak Park attended the sessions and proposed an innovative “Hacking Hemingway” project which was awarded grant funding and is now underway. Speakers will talk about the original needs, the development of the model and the Hacking Hemingway project thus far.
