2006 (W)
Description :

The Near East and South Asia Subcommittee of ALA’s International Relations Committee invites you to a roundtable discussion about the role librarians can play in preserving and protecting the cultural heritage that is being threatened in several countries in our region. During the last few years, libraries and collections have been destroyed in Timbuktu, Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Iraq and other countries in the region. We invite all interested scholars and librarians who wish to participate in the discussion on what steps and risk management strategies can be taken to protect manuscript and book collections from further destruction.
