The panel members will discuss their experiences during the hiring process including general and unique application requirements, pitches and items potential employees should have prepared before they apply, and the time requirements for the hiring process. Panel members will also share their experiences with hiring librarians for institutions they have worked at. They will provide insight into what they look for in applicants and offer suggestions on how to best approach a job search. This year's Bookmobile Saturday Author Luncheon will feature Mac Barnett. Bestselling and award winning author Mac Barnett wrote The Terrible Two with his friend Jory John. The duo met through their jobs at 826LA and 826 Valencia, nonprofit centers that give kids free help with their creative and expository writing. Mac will discuss his work with 826 and his belief that one way to ensure we have diverse readers and writers is by making sure students everywhere—especially in low-income neighborhoods—have access to free, fun, high-quality writing instruction.

How should we approach the future? Speakers from Ithaka S+R and Stanford's Graduate School of Education will identify broad transformations within and future directions for higher education. Academic librarians will then discuss how these transformations affect the organization and structure of university libraries, liaison roles, collections, and instruction and outreach. The program will conclude by engaging the audience in a discussion of how changes in higher education are playing out at their own institutions.
